Towards Financial Freedom

Generating a passive income was one of the major things I believed in, and still do. Other than the primary source of income, one should plan out a secondary or may be even more ways of cash inflows. It’s quite appealing to think this than actually putting it into work. Not all will come up with the alternative ideas straight away, but it’s worth spending time to think and try out to reveal your inner strengths.

As I’m in the software industry, I tried freelancing at first, may be in the first few years in the industry. But soon I realized how competitive the market was and how little an individual could make an impact unless there were other connections with the prospective customers. But that didn’t stop me from figuring out other potential areas I could try. Which made me to try at least one or two new things per year to start generating some extra income.

Not all of them worked out, I must say, and the number of times I failed in the journey was greater than the successful ones. But I didn’t want to give up as I knew for certain that there is light at the other side of the tunnel. As I believed everyone has many strengths which can be put in to work, I also took the chance of exploring my other skills, like marketing, writing, social media advertising and trading.

Which brings to realize my inner strengths and very powerful opportunities to shape up my future. After eight years of struggling, I found myself good at trading (especially stocks and forex) in online platforms. I did a trial run for four months and I was quite impressed with the outcome. I also didn’t forget to get feedback from other traders as well, to make myself comfortable in my results, and with their recommendations, I put my skills in to work.

Voila! That really works!

Now I know what I’ll be doing in the future to generate a passive income, and to make it even more interesting, I chose to trade in a social trading platform, where others can also benefit from my trading. That’s going to be the future of trading of course, even though the old ways of  trading still exist. I’d like to post my successes here as well in a timely manner, and the gates will be opened for others to get benefit as well in the near future.

Secondary Plans

opportunity

If someone asked why we work, there would be whole lot of different answers coming from people. Apparently that’s where we are all heading to, right after finishing the education in schools and colleges. At that time, we all wanted to enter the professionals’ clubs, and to feel the next level of class in the society. Dreams were there like imagining how we would look like driving our dream car, giving away the nicely designed visiting cards to strangers and even travelling to exotic locations all around the world. That’s pretty much the way how we used to plan our future, may be in next five or ten years.

How many of you had dreams like that? And, how many of you have actually ticked off the checklists you used to scribble back then? After eight years of working in four companies, those are the sort of questions I ask myself now, usually before going to bed. Yes, I have done something for my life for sure, but those things were not the ones I usually planned when I was in the university. How did it happen? And why the priority list keep changing?

As we have learned through various subjects, everything seems to be relative. Now that I look back at the times I studied, the things have changed quite a lot around us, both in terms of personal and social life. Change is universal. Everything and everyone around us keep changing, day after day. How can we have steady and fixed goals in such an environment? I believe that’s why we have little slippages in planning our future.

Money. The cause for all problems. The thing we need to accomplish most of the dreams we had. There is a controversy of defining happiness with money. I usually don’t like to answer that question as I realize money plays an important role in everything we do. That’s quite obviously the same reason for entering the professionals’ club, having dreams of earning heaps of money and use them to travel world etc.

Anyway, sooner or later, we all come to a stage in order to judge ourselves about past decisions we have made. Some might be delighted with them, while some will regret. There are ups and downs in life whether you like it or not. But, the most importantly, you need to take charge of your life, whenever you feel like you need a boost to reach what you have already planned to do, before you become physically challenged to do so.

Those were the same reasons why I continuously tried at least two different things in a year to start another income source. If you could dream of your future back then, why we stop trying to make them happen now? I remember I have attempted ten times in the last eight years to form a new business, but I failed. But I didn’t want to stop as something keep nagging me that I’m not quite done yet, and there are other possibilities to choose from. That made me to step out of the comfort zones and start discovering other markets which I didn’t have any kind of knowledge and experience. Everything started from scratch and I invested time to learn most of the things, mostly by myself.

Hustle. Hustle and hustle until you find the right path. That doesn’t mean you have to be careless. Every month and year brings you enough experience to deal with new challenges in life, and it’s up to you to identify what taught you the most valuable lesson. As I am quite confident of the thing I’d be doing in the year starting from now, I’ll post that particular story in future posts. (And, I believe that’s not quite that far …)

Stay Motivated

successful-business-woman

I thought of writing about something different from what I have been writing before. But it’s directly related to writing as well.

Motivation is something everyone is aware of, and it’s a popular topic when it comes to speaking about positive-thinking and self-building. Let’s see some benefits of giving it a priority in your life and how that affects one’s writing career. Mind you that it’s not only about writing, and you can apply to anything else as well.

Now that everyone advises you to get yourself motivated, how many of them really tells you the method for it? Well, it’s easy to give advises, but they have to be practical and should make sense in the first place.

Here are some things you can do to get yourself motivated for writing. (At least that’s what I do, and it’s really working … )

Read

Anything. Anytime. Anywhere. – Yes, I believe that’s the starting point for writing. If you can’t entertain yourself by reading, you can’t expect the others to enjoy reading what you write. First, fall in love with reading. Believe it or not, with the invent of technology and other electronic media, a lot of people opt to watch and listen than reading. And don’t consider that as a negative thing. Just keep on reading and make it a habit, so it will provide you the necessary environment to start writing.

Watch

Well, I just mentioned about it as a negative thing, right? Yes, but that’s only if you don’t use it effectively. One of the best things you can do to motivate yourself is to watch documentaries of successful people. There are shorter clips available in youtube now, and subscribe to several channels where you find decent information.

Interact with people

Whatever you write, they are going to get related to people at the end. So, just be with them first and listen to what they like to read, and their opinions about some facts. Accept the fact that many of them have a different definition on something than you. And analyze what they see as well. When you write, mention those points, too, and that’ll start a discussion where you can get more readers for your writing.

Treat yourself

Life is a battle and you need to hustle everyday toward your goal. Your heart and brain work continuously to give you what you want. So, isn’t it a bad idea to treat for their effort as well? Choose many methods of treating and change it time to time. Have shorter goals and once you achieved those, do something you really love, and that can be going out to a fine dinner, or watching your favorite movie, or spending a weekend in a fabulous holiday destination etc, – and it’s absolutely alright to do it all by yourself.

Share your experience

This is vital. Share what you learn with others. A lot of people are out there who seek stories like yours, which you already do by reading and watching about them. Put up a blog or may be even a vlog if you like, and tell small advises for the others which you learned by yourself. Those little things eventually will add up to create a loyal and dependable customer base around you. Listen to their responses and interact with them.

Once you try out those tips, you will realize how happy you are and most importantly with what you do. You’ll also realize some other ways of doing things and the feeling of making your life worth living.
